At level 4 capentry you can craft the lesser collector which can fill 4 water bottes. The greater collector at level 7 can fill 9 water bottels.Cooking is kinda meh. Once you have sustainable food set up food will simply not be a problem, and there's no reason to deal with cooking with rotten food when you can produce all the fresh food you want.
